Crafting and the Workshop

ARC Raiders' Workshop has a Workbench, six upgradable stations (Gunsmith, Gear Bench, Medical Lab, Explosives Station, Utility Station, Refiner) and Scrappy, the rooster who gathers materials between raids. Station costs below are from Nov 2025 guides; update 2.0 added Gunsmith 4, which takes 3 Radial Press, 3 Magnetic Accelerator and 1 Emperor Modulator.

ARC Raiders' Workshop is where you craft: a Workbench with no upgrades, six stations that level up (Gunsmith, Gear Bench, Medical Lab, Explosives Station, Utility Station, Refiner), plus Scrappy, and each level unlocks more recipes once you have the blueprint. Upgrades are paid in materials you carry home, so this list tells you what to save (the full keep list is on Materials). The costs are from guides of Nov 2025 that agree with each other. Embark has not published a list, and beyond Gunsmith 4, added by update 2.0, Vi.ki found no change in Embark's notes through update 2.3.0 (Oct 27, 2026).

Sources: Destructoid, Nov 2, 2025; Gfinity (Refiner), Nov 5, 2025. Destructoid adds 3 Rusted Shut Medical Kit to Refiner 3; Gfinity and TheGamer do not, and it looks like a copy from Medical Lab 3, so it is left out here.

Gunsmith 4 arrived with update 2.0 and takes 3 Radial Press, 3 Magnetic Accelerator and 1 Emperor Modulator (Game Rant, Oct 14, 2026). You need it for Weapon Amplification. The Emperor Modulator has no fixed spot inside the fallen Emperor on Pendola Pass (Destructoid, Oct 11, 2026).

The Research Bench is a further station that sits in the Outpost, with its own materials and levels: see Outpost and Research. Since update 2.3.0 Workshop benches placed in the Outpost are listed with Basic Workbench right after Scrappy.

What each station makes

Exact recipes sit on each item's page. Which blueprint needs which level is on Blueprints.

What to make first

No reliable source gives a settled order. Press advice points the same way, and all of it is from before update 2.0: Legacy Gaming's launch order is Scrappy, then Gunsmith, Medical Lab and Refiner.

  1. Stash first, if Coins are short. TheGamer says to spend on Stash expansion first, then the Gun Shop (Nov 4, 2025). See Stash.
  2. Refiner to 2. It turns ARC Alloy into the Motion Cores and Circuitry that later levels need.
  3. Gunsmith and Gear Bench to 2, for better guns and Mk.2 Augments.
  4. Save the ARC drops. Level 2 and 3 costs want Wasp Drivers, Hornet Drivers, Tick Pods and more, so do not sell them on sight. TheGamer's keep list totals them (Nov 8, 2025).

Steps 2 and 3 are Vi.ki's reading of the costs above, not a published guide. The late-game shortages Game Rant names are Sensors, Durable Cloth, Electrical and Mechanical Components, and Gun Parts (Nov 19, 2025). For the first days, see Beginner's Guide.

Field crafting works in a raid, too, and keeps your selection after a craft since 1.2.0. In the Acquire Resources menu, crafting suggestions take priority over recycle suggestions since 1.26.0.

Scrappy

Scrappy is your rooster companion in Speranza, who gathers materials between raids. You upgrade him with items you bring home, and since update 1.22.0 (Mar 31, 2026) you can feed him for a boost.

Scrappy level Cost
2 Dog Collar
3 3 Lemon, 3 Apricot
4 6 Prickly Pear, 6 Olives, 1 Cat Bed
5 12 Mushroom, 12 Apricot, 3 Very Comfortable Pillow

Source: Gfinity, Nov 5, 2025. TheGamer tags the Dog Collar as Scrappy 1 (Nov 8, 2025).

Feeding. Insider Gaming explains that each food gives five of one resource plus one random item (Apr 3, 2026): Olives give Fabric, Mushrooms Plastic Parts, Agave Assorted Seeds, Apricot Metal Parts, Lemon Chemicals, Prickly Pear Rubber Parts, and Fruit Mix five of everything. Update 1.36.0 tidied the Feeding Rewards section of the Scrappy Nest.

Expedition boost. Consecutive Expeditions raise Scrappy's material gain: 6% after the first, 12% after the second, 18% after the third. Embark capped the boost at three levels from the fourth Expedition on, and said buffs persist through the current pause. No Expedition is running or dated: Embark says they return in early 2027 (see Expeditions).

The anniversary number. Embark's first-year figures say players fed Scrappy over 6,800 tons (GamesBeat, Oct 30, 2026).

Scrappy also wears cosmetics, including helmets with their own sounds, and clucks less since update 1.17.0 after player feedback. Since 2.3.0 he shows up in the Outpost without first visiting the Workshop.

Frequently asked questions

What should you upgrade first in the ARC Raiders Workshop? No reliable source gives a settled order. TheGamer says to spend Coins on Stash expansion first (Nov 4, 2025); the Refiner, Gunsmith and Gear Bench then open the recipes most players want.

What does Scrappy do in ARC Raiders? Scrappy is the rooster who gathers materials for you between raids. Upgrading him and feeding him raises what he brings, and consecutive Expeditions added up to an 18% materials boost.

What do you need for Scrappy's upgrades in ARC Raiders? Dog Collar; then 3 Lemon and 3 Apricot; then 6 Prickly Pear, 6 Olives and 1 Cat Bed; then 12 Mushroom, 12 Apricot and 3 Very Comfortable Pillow, per Gfinity on Nov 5, 2025.

What does Gunsmith 4 need in ARC Raiders? Three Radial Press, 3 Magnetic Accelerator and 1 Emperor Modulator, per Game Rant on Oct 14, 2026. Update 2.0 added it for Weapon Amplification.

What does the Gear Bench need in ARC Raiders? Level 1 takes 25 Plastic Parts and 30 Fabric, level 2 takes 3 Power Cable, 5 Electrical Components and 5 Hornet Driver, and level 3 takes 3 Industrial Battery, 5 Advanced Electrical Components and 6 Bastion Cell (Nov 2025 guides).

Does an Expedition reset the Workshop in ARC Raiders? Yes. Embark's Dec 6, 2025 post says an Expedition resets the Skill Tree, Level, Stash, Workshop, Crafting and Blueprints in exchange for rewards.
