Most ARC Raiders connection errors, such as ARAU0297, are server-side, so check Embark's news, X and Discord before changing anything. Embark has no official status page that we could find. Known crash causes include Windows Update KB5121003, Xbox Series S memory and AMD ray tracing, each with its patch below.
If ARC Raiders will not connect, first check whether the servers are the problem: Destructoid says ARAU0297 often appears during server-side trouble that only the developers can fix (Dec 26, 2025), and in that case you close the game and wait. No official status page was found as of Oct 31, 2026; Embark's notices go out through its Steam news, X and Discord. Below are the error codes reliable sources name, the known crashes from Embark's patch notes through 2.3.0 (Oct 27, 2026), and press fixes marked as what they are: unofficial suggestions, not Embark's.

Check the server status first
- Read Embark's latest Steam news, then its X account and Discord. Destructoid points to the official Discord.
- Look at PCGamesN's server status page; it is only as current as its last update, Feb 4, 2026 when we read it, so do not rely on its "online" line.
- If an update just landed, restart. Embark's patches ask you to restart your client to download.
Past outages show the pattern. Launch day brought queues and connection errors (Oct 30, 2025), Embark gave 500 Raider Tokens after that weekend's trouble (Nov 3, 2025), and PCGamesN logged downtime and queues on Nov 19, 2025. Since 1.45.0, matchmaking errors explain themselves when you go offline in queue or your crossplay settings mismatch. New raids or updates rolling out are on Patch Notes and Updates. In Embark's documentary, a developer says millions of players at launch found bugs the team could not anticipate.

Embark publishes no complete list of error codes as of Oct 31, 2026, and none of these fixes comes from Embark except its own hotfix. Destructoid's date fix on Windows: close the game and Steam, open Adjust date and time, turn "Set time zone automatically" and "Set time automatically" off and back on, run Steam as an administrator, and try again. The current Steam Deck state on 2.3.0 is not confirmed by a reliable source (Platforms and Crossplay).
Crashes by platform
Windows. Embark listed crashes tied to Windows Update KB5121003 as a known issue, with a workaround on its Discord, at 1.42.0 and 1.45.0. It is not in the known-issue list of later notes read for this page; if it hits you, ask in Embark's Discord. A DirectX 11 launch crash was fixed in 1.17.0, and the crash on PCs without AVX2 using Raider Voice in 1.3.0.
AMD. Update 1.3.0 recommended driver 25.11.1 to reduce GPU crashes. Update 2.3.0 added a workaround for a ray tracing crash on RX 7000 GPUs. If the game warns about your driver, update it; check PC Requirements and Performance.
Epic. A sudden loss of keyboard input was a known issue at 1.42.0: disable overlays, or alt-tab out and back.
Xbox. "Some XBOX players may experience instability or crashes" is still listed at 2.3.0. Embark cut memory use on Series S, particularly around the Frigate, in the same update and in 2.1.0, and asks you to report what persists.
PS5. Embark fixed a frequent physics-engine crash in 1.47.0, along with an earlier crash just after starting a session in 1.45.0. Voice chat failures on PS5 and Xbox were addressed in 2.0.

General fixes
These are press suggestions, not Embark's: restart the game or your connection, then wait for servers to settle (PCGamesN), and turn off a VPN and flush DNS (Sportskeeda). Verifying game files through your store and updating GPU drivers are ordinary PC steps, not fixes any reliable source documents for a specific ARC Raiders error.
Age and access can also block you: an Embark ID needs you to be 13 or older, and an internet connection is required. Banned rather than broken? Bans get human appeal review, per Embark (May 7, 2026); see Anti-Cheat and Fair Play.
Reporting a bug
Embark asks for reports through its Discord support inbox or @ScrappyMail (Oct 16, 2026), which it says let it act on exploits without spreading the method publicly. Updates follow a rhythm Embark restated in 2.3.0: fixes about every three weeks and weekly store updates, so a known issue may wait for the next live update (What Comes Next). In the clip, a developer says exploits surfaced through streams, feedback and bug reports.

Controls and SettingsARC Raiders' default PC keys are WASD to move, Left Shift to sprint, Left Alt to dodge, E to interact, Tab for inventory and M for the map. Most gamepad buttons can be rebound since update 1.13.0, and update 2.0 changed the default gamepad mapping without publishing the new layout in its Steam highlights.

Bastion, Bombardier and ShredderTo kill a Bastion or Bombardier in ARC Raiders, hit the yellow leg joints to slow it, then the yellow canister or cylinder at the back. A Bombardier also relies on Spotters, so kill those first. A Shredder dies to its bottom thruster, with two Trigger Nades enough to finish one.

Ground ARCSmall ground ARC in ARC Raiders die quickly once you know the spot. One hit kills a Tick, one medium shot pops a Pop, a Fireball falls when its panel opens, and two heavy shots behind the barrel kill a Turret. The Leaper is the dangerous one, best hit with heavy ammo on the eye and Blaze Grenades.

Queen and MatriarchTo kill the Queen in ARC Raiders, strip her leg armor and shoot the structure beneath, or hit the head spot. To kill the Matriarch, strip her two front plates and shoot the red core in her head. Bring a squad, Hullcrackers and Wolfpacks; they drop the reactors that craft the Equalizer and Aphelion.

Crafting and the WorkshopARC Raiders' Workshop has a Workbench, six upgradable stations (Gunsmith, Gear Bench, Medical Lab, Explosives Station, Utility Station, Refiner) and Scrappy, the rooster who gathers materials between raids. Station costs below are from Nov 2025 guides; update 2.0 added Gunsmith 4, which takes 3 Radial Press, 3 Magnetic Accelerator and 1 Emperor Modulator.

They come from the traders Shani, Celeste, Tian Wen, Apollo and Lance, and since 2.0 from Cassio; since 2.0 they also grant XP, and since Sep 2026 an Expedition no longer has to reset them.

What Comes NextEmbark has not named or dated the next big ARC Raiders update. What it has announced is two content updates a year, fixes every three weeks, weekly store updates, a PvE follow-up in November 2026, Trials Season 6 ending Jan 12, 2027, and Expeditions returning in early 2027.
