Keys

ARC Raiders keys open locked rooms on each map and are used up when they open a door, and the Raider Hatch Key opens an extraction hatch. Dexerto listed the named keys by map on Apr 29, 2026; no reliable source has a full Pendola Pass list as of Oct 31, 2026.

ARC Raiders keys open locked rooms with better loot on each map, and each key is consumed when it opens a door, so a key is worth using only if you expect to get out with what is inside. The one exception to the room rule is the Raider Hatch Key, which opens an extraction hatch rather than a room (see Extraction and Raider Hatches). This list comes from Dexerto's key guide of Apr 29, 2026 and earlier guides. Update 2.0 (Oct 8, 2026) added a map, Pendola Pass, and no reliable source gives its full key list as of Oct 31, 2026.

Pendola Pass

Only one Pendola Pass key is named by a reliable source: the Observatory Key, a reward from Shani's quest Belly of the Beast (Game Rant, Oct 10, 2026; see Quests). Update 2.3.0 also mentions an Emperor Key blueprint that drops from Redirection pods, at a reduced chance, but no reliable source states exactly what that key opens (see Map Conditions).

Which keys are worth it

No reliable source ranks single keys. What is known is general. Embark raised loot value in Epic key card rooms in update 1.7.0 "to better reflect their rarity," and then raised all locked rooms in 1.22.0, scaled by key rarity, so the rarer the key, the better the room. Locked rooms are also among the places PCGamesN names for the best blueprint odds, alongside the Dam's Control Tower (May 7, 2026): more on Blueprints.

Since a key is consumed by the door and is lost if you are killed outside a safe pocket, the usual advice is to carry it in one. Game Rant names keys among the good safe pocket candidates (Oct 18, 2025). A Free Loadout has no safe pocket. See Shields and Augments for the Augments with the most pockets.

Finding keys

TheGamer says map keys come mostly from residential areas and Research and Administration, and that Night Raids and Electromagnetic Storms can improve the odds (Feb 14, 2026). Several quests send you to locked rooms: since update 1.7.0 those quests offer interactions to find spare keys.

Raider Hatch Key

The Raider Hatch Key lets you leave by a hatch. Press guides describe four ways to get one: buy from Shani, craft at the Utility bench, earn from quests or loot (TheGamer, Feb 14, 2026). The recipe is 1 Advanced Electrical Components and 3 Sensors at Utility Station 2, and it sells for 2,000 (Beebom, Oct 7, 2026). Its old Shani price was in Cred, retired in update 2.0, and no reliable source gives its Coin price. Since 1.17.0 the game warns at ready-up if you deploy with Hatch keys into a map with no active hatches. Game Rant suggests one for solo players to leave a bad spot quietly (Nov 26, 2025; see Solo Guide).

Patches that touched keys

  • 1.3.0, Nov 20, 2025: a Control Tower locked room could be entered without a key; fixed.
  • 1.7.0, Dec 16, 2025: keys stay in the safe pocket when you use the Unload backpack.
  • 1.11.0, Jan 13, 2026: closed an exploit that let players keep room keys after using them.
  • 2.1.1, Oct 16, 2026: closed several ways into locked rooms.
  • 2.3.0, Oct 27, 2026: extended locked-room exploit prevention to the inside of the Emperor; cut the Emperor Key blueprint's drop chance from Redirection pods.
